WHY THESE STORIES MATTER

How the Stories Collection Began

Over the past few years, I've walked through some of the hardest seasons of my life. Along the way, God placed incredible women in my path...women who showed me what courage looks like, what faith looks like, and what it means to keep moving forward when life doesn't go according to plan.

I discovered that I love the peace that comes with baking, working dough with my hands, and creating different sweet roll flavors. Then I realized I wanted these sweet rolls to be more than just flavors on a menu. I wanted them to tell a story.

This page exists to celebrate their journeys, not their hardships. They are survivors. They are overcomers. They are women who kept going when quitting would have been easier. Most of all, they are women whose stories deserve to be remembered.

THE STORIES COLLECTION

The Women Behind the Sweet Rolls

Behind every roll is a real woman, a real journey, and a reminder that hope can grow in even the hardest seasons. This collection continues to grow as more remarkable women share their journeys.

Melissa
RASPBERRY — THE "MELISSA"

Melissa

Melissa is one of the most steadfast women I know. She has walked through seasons most of us only read about — and she has done it with a quiet, steady faith that changes everyone around her for the better. Our Raspberry rolls are made in honor of Melissa.

She never liked fresh raspberries too tart, too squishy. But raspberry sourdough rolls? Her absolute favorite. Because sometimes, beauty rises from what once left a bitter taste.
She’s a survivor of both physical and sexual abuse, beginning in childhood and continuing through her first marriage. But she didn’t stay buried in the pain. She fought, she healed, and she built something stronger from the ruins.
Her story is one of grit, faith, and unstoppable resilience. She turned what tried to break her into fuel for her purpose. Today, she’s a successful entrepreneur, wellness, and business coach and advocate for others reclaiming their power.
Our raspberry rolls are dedicated to her, not because raspberries were ever sweet to her, but because she made something sweet out of them anyway.
Visit withlovemp.com to see all she’s accomplished despite the tart berries life handed her.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.” — Proverbs 31:25

LACTOSE-SENSITIVE CINNAMON ROLLS — THE "ASHLEIGH"

ASHLEIGH

Named for a young woman who learned through hardship how to love herself and found proof that the right people will love you exactly as you are.

Some people might think it's funny that a lactose-sensitive cinnamon roll is named after Ashleigh.

After all, these rolls require some special ingredients: Lactaid milk, dairy-free cream, and a different icing recipe entirely. But somehow, that feels fitting.

Ashleigh has spent much of her life learning that she doesn't need to change who she is to belong. She doesn't need to become someone else to be loved, accepted, or valued.
Like many women, she walked through a season that left her questioning her worth. At the same time, she continued pushing forward, focusing on school, investing in her health, building confidence, and refusing to give up on herself. When life felt impossible, she leaned on the people who loved her. Family and friends reminded her of her strength until she could see it for herself.

Today, one of the lessons she hopes other women will carry from her story is simple: The right people will love and appreciate you for who you are. You don't have to be anything but yourself to deserve love, respect, and happiness. She is proud of the hard work she has put into her education, the confidence she has gained, and the woman she has become. Most of all, she hopes people remember that even during life's hardest seasons, she still found reasons to smile.

The beautiful thing that grew from her painful season is the love she experiences today; a reminder that healing is possible, hope is real, and better days can still be ahead. The Ashleigh Roll is dedicated to her journey of self-worth, resilience, and learning that being yourself is more than enough.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” — Psalm 139:14

SIGNATURE CINNAMON ROLL — THE "LISA"

Lisa

A reminder that the women who carry farms, families, faith, and grief in the same arms deserve to be honored too, no matter where you are in your journey.

I grew up thinking harm was normal, until God’s gentleness showed me another way.
I didn’t see healthy love modeled. As a child I witnessed my mom being abused by a boyfriend for years. My dad and step-mom were emotionally, and sometimes physically, abusive. So I stepped into adulthood with a broken map and found myself in marriages marked by manipulation, emotional abuse, and infidelity. I clung to my faith and prayed for healing, feeling guilty for even considering leaving.

When the abuse turned physical, the guilt finally loosened. God’s voice was clearer than my fear: This is not love. I walked away—an act of faith, not a failure of it. Healing came in small mercies: counseling, honest friends, quiet mornings. It also came from our farm. The steady rhythms of watering, gathering eggs, and creating taught me patience and a gentler strength.

From a quite conversation with God, Rise Up Micro Bakery was born. Every sweet roll is a prayer for others finding their way to safety and for anyone learning, as I am, that love is kind and free of fear.

“He restores my soul.” — Psalm 23:3

A COMMON THREAD

Faith, Healing, and New Beginnings

No two stories on this page are alike. And yet, if you sit with them long enough, you start to hear the same quiet themes whispered through each one — faith that held when feelings didn’t, survival on the days that asked everything of them, growth in seasons that felt more like winter than spring.

Faith

The thread woven through every story, carrying them through their hardest seasons.

IDENTITY

Learning their worth wasn't defined by what happened to them.

Second Chances

Proof that hope and new beginnings are never out of reach.

A LIVING COLLECTION

Future Honorees

This collection is still being written. There are more stories waiting to be told. More women whose courage changed the lives around them. More mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, friends, and mentors whose faith carried them through impossible seasons.

As new sweet roll flavors are created, new women will be added to these pages—women whose stories deserve to be remembered. The sweetest stories are often still unfolding.
More stories. More courage. More evidence that God still brings beauty from broken places.

A CLOSING REFLECTION

YOUR HARD SEASON DOES NOT HAVE THE FINAL WORD

Whatever you are walking through today — quietly, bravely, or just barely — please hear this: you are seen. The chapter you are in is not the whole book. The women honored on this page would tell you the same.

Celebrate the strong women around you. Check on the women who quietly carry more than anyone realizes. And be gentle with yourself in the meantime. Healing, like good bread, simply takes time and warmth.

With love from our farmhouse to yours — Lisa
